As a mom of two adventurous boys who live for hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors, I know firsthand the importance of clothing that’s not just stylish, but also comfortable. That’s exactly why I created ButterflyTigress—offering coastal and fishing-themed clothing that kids will love to wear without the itchiness of traditional embroidery.

Located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, our shop thrives on the natural beauty surrounding us. With lakes, greenery, and endless outdoor adventures, my boys and I find inspiration every day. Whether they’re fishing for bass or taking care of their pet leopard geckos, their love for nature is at the heart of every design. Where I get my inspiration

Growing up in Southwest Louisiana, I absorbed the vibrant culture of the Cajuns. From a young age, I embraced the traditions, language, and stories that shaped my family’s identity. My maternal grandparents spoke Cajun French, and my great-grandparents only learned English when they entered school. These deep Louisiana roots fuel everything I create at ButterflyTigress.

I studied Cajun French in school, starting in elementary, continuing through high school, and into my time at LSU. While I’m not fluent, I picked up words and phrases along the way. My Maw Maw and Paw Paw often spoke Cajun French to keep us grandchildren from understanding their conversations. I’ll never forget trying to decipher bits of my Maw Maw’s phone chats with her sister or friends. Those moments ignited my lifelong passion for Cajun culture, even though the language itself remained somewhat hidden from us.
